application process
1. complete forms
A) Complete an Application for Housing form.
B) Sign an Authorization form for every member of the household for whom any source of income is listed.
2. gather documents
Examples of documents that may apply to your situation:

Proof of residency and U.S. citizenship.

Current pay stubs for all employed adults in household.

Current bank statements, loan statements, credit card statements.

Federal income tax returns and state benefit statements (SSI, SSDI, Food Share, Section 8 Housing, etc).

Child support court order and payment history.

Current copy of your Credit Report. Request your free annual credit report.
3. submit paperwork
Return your completed Application form, Authorization form and support documentation to our Manitowoc County Habitat for Humanity office.
After your information has been submitted, staff will do an initial review of your application.
review process
Partner families are selected based on the Home Ownership program qualifications without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, handicapping conditions, family status, marital status, age or ethnic group in accordance with United States law and with Habitat's abiding belief that God's love extends to everyone.

After an initial review by staff, a meeting is scheduled with you to discuss your application.

After a review by the Family Selection Committee, a home visit is scheduled.

After the home visit, the Family Selection Committee and Board of Directors meet for a final review and approval.
